Privacy Policy
CheckedIn · Last updated 10 October 2026
CheckedIn keeps your lists on your phone. There is no account to create, no server to sign in to, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
What the app stores
CheckedIn stores the following on your device, in the app's own private storage:
- the items on your lists and whether each one is checked
- the name of each list
- when each list was created and last changed
- your preferences: theme, language, haptic feedback, and reduced motion
- whether you have already seen the introduction
This is everything the app knows. It is written to your phone and read back from it. It is not backed up to us, because there is no us to back it up to.
What leaves your device
Nothing.
CheckedIn makes no network requests at all. It works with the phone in aeroplane mode and with the SIM removed.
The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no third-party tracking of any kind. It has no account system and no sign-in, so there is no profile to attach anything to.
Exporting your lists
Settings has an export that saves every list as a file. The file is written to the app's own storage on your device and then handed to your operating system's share sheet, which is the same sheet you see when you share a photo from your camera roll.
Where it goes from there is your choice: a note, a message to yourself, a folder you control. CheckedIn does not send it anywhere, does not know where you sent it, and keeps no record of it. The copy in the app's storage is temporary and the system may clear it.
Permissions
CheckedIn declares two Android permissions. One of them does something:
- Vibrate: used for the short haptic tap when you check something off, and only if you have left haptics switched on in Settings.
- Internet: added by the tooling that builds the app rather than by anything the app does. There is no code in CheckedIn that can make a network request. It runs with the phone in aeroplane mode.
There are no other permissions. CheckedIn does not ask for your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, files or notifications, on either platform, because it has no use for any of them. On iOS it shows no permission prompts at all.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Deleting a list in the app removes it from your device.
- Delete all lists in Settings removes every list and everything on them, after asking you to confirm.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.
Because your lists only ever exist on your device, there is no copy held anywhere else and nothing for us to delete on your behalf. Deleting them is entirely in your hands, and it is immediate.
Children
CheckedIn is suitable for anyone. It collects nothing from anyone, including children, because it collects nothing at all.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app ever handles data differently, this page will say so and the date at the top will change. The policy describes what the app actually does, and it will be updated in the same release as any change to that.
